Wifi

Google needed an in-store explainer demo for their wifi home router. The brief was to show the devices speaking together in key spaces around the house. My task was to design the house in 3D.

We settled on using a miniature ‘dollhouse’ but stripped it back - minimal and modern. It soon became an architectural challenge. Striking the balance between being modern and premium but also feeling like a lived-in family home with character, a place to tell a story. After some iterations I got there, using furniture and key colors almost like icons to denote rooms in a modern LA feeling framework.

Sunset

Part of the challenge was lighting the house to depict day and night. I used hard graphic shadows to enhance the clean lines and ambient lights to describe the time of day. To the right is a sunset sequence I created. The cyan glow represents the coverage of the wifi routers evenly lighting each room at night.
